My name is Neil Hohn, I am the owner/chef & proprietor of The FUzZ Box. I spent 18 years working in the restaurant industry, in Toronto & Nova Scotia, 13 of those years in management positions.

In January 2010 I was working at Richtree Market Restaurant at Yonge & Front. When it closed its doors I decided to take a break from the hospitality industry, to concentrate on my true passion, music.

A trip back to Nova Scotia in fall of 2010 reminded me how much I love donairs - it dawned on me that no one offering them in Toronto is doing them the way we do back home. That's when the idea was born. Originally I was going to call the restaurant "East Coast Donairs" but when my stepmother suggested cross promoting my band The FUzZ, I was excited to combine my 2 passions, cooking & music, hence the name The FUzZ Box.

On opening day, April 18 2012, we had 50 lbs of meat prepared, we sold out by 6pm, & sold out of everything else by 7, so we had to close an hour early. We do stray from the traditional donair in 2 ways, we do not order spits of meat, instead we mix the meat here by hand & cook loaves of it in the oven daily, then slice & grill it to order using all beef. This ensures the freshness of the meat as well as the ingredients.

We also use a thick greek pita as opposed to the traditional thinner Lebanese pita, because it seems to hold the ingredients better, but don't worry our donair is still as messy as back home!! We have the other pita available, customers just need to ask!
